Mechanical Movement - CGI Film
CGI created to support the launch of Christopher Ward’s mechanical movement, focused on clearly articulating internal components, timing, and mechanical relationships that are hidden within the watch case.

THE CHALLENGE
Key elements of the movement, including the twin barrel springs, escapement, and balance wheel, are central to the watch’s performance and craftsmanship but are difficult to communicate through traditional film or still imagery.
The challenge was to explain how the movement works in a way that remained technically accurate, legible, and aligned with the brand’s refined positioning, without overwhelming the viewer.

THE APPROACH
We used motion-led CGI to take the viewer inside the watch, animating the movement as it assembles in sequence. This allowed individual components to be revealed in context, showing how structure, timing, and interaction contribute to overall performance.
The visual language balanced clarity and precision with restraint, ensuring the mechanics were understandable while maintaining the tone and finish expected of a luxury watch brand.
THE OUTCOME
The resulting CGI film provided Christopher Ward with a clear visual explanation of the movement’s construction and behaviour. The assets supported product launch activity across digital, retail, and brand channels, offering a reliable reference for communicating mechanical precision and craftsmanship.
The work helped translate complex horology into visual understanding without compromising accuracy or brand integrity.
