HPR50 E-Bike Motor CGI Animation

CGI animation supporting the launch of TQ's HPR50 motor system, focused on clearly articulating the internal engineering of a harmonic pin ring drive that is compact, quiet, and entirely hidden within the product.

THE CHALLENGE

The HPR50's performance advantage comes from a mechanism most riders and partner brands haven't seen before. The harmonic pin ring drive delivers high torque at minimal weight and noise, but its logic is invisible and unfamiliar. Explaining it through traditional media wasn't possible.

The challenge was to make the internal mechanism understandable without resorting to diagrams or technical overlays, and to do so in a way that worked for both marketing and technical audiences.

THE APPROACH

The visual story was structured in two parts. First, controlled CGI sequences revealed the harmonic drive system step by step, using motion and pacing to explain mechanical logic without reducing accuracy. Second, the motor was placed into a natural riding environment aligned with TQ's wider campaign, keeping the explanation grounded in real-world use.

Internal components were isolated and revealed through layered CGI and precise camera movement, showing force transfer and rotational behaviour without labels or callouts.

THE OUTCOME

The final deliverables went beyond a single hero film. Fakery produced a modular asset library including short-form loops, web-ready sequences, and adaptable visuals for use across product marketing, partner communication, and technical education. The CGI provided TQ with a consistent visual language to explain a complex system across multiple audiences and channels.
